Questions
What is Sazlo?
Sazlo is a realtime community platform: spaces you come back to, rooms for every conversation, voice you can drop into, and presence that shows who is around. It works for five friends and for fifty thousand people.
Who makes Sazlo?
Sazlo is made by Vaylo Studios and AEDELRIC Studios, together.
Where does Sazlo run?
In the browser at sazlo.app, and in desktop apps for macOS, Windows and Linux, from Settings, Desktop app. The iOS and Android apps are built and coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.
Is Sazlo a Discord alternative?
Yes. It covers what groups rely on Discord for and adds per-person layouts, built-in no-code bots, custom Home pages and Catch Up. It can also import a Discord server with its history. See Discord alternative.
Can I bring my Discord server?
Yes. Add the Sazlo bot to a server you own or administer and it builds a space with its sections, rooms, threads, forum posts, events and every message. A two-way bridge keeps both sides talking while people move. See Move from Discord.
Does Sazlo ask for ID, a face scan or my real name?
No. A handle and an email get you in. If the law or an age-gated space ever needs more, Sazlo keeps the answer and never the evidence. See Privacy and safety.
Is Sazlo end-to-end encrypted?
No. The service can read messages, which is what makes search, moderation and translation work.
Does Sazlo have voice and video?
Yes: voice rooms, huddles in any room, direct and group calls, camera, screen share with sound and push to talk. See Voice and video.
Do I need to code to make a bot?
No. Bots start from templates like the Discord bots you know, such as levels, moderation, welcomes, reaction roles and tickets, and Sazlo runs them. See No-code bots.
How do people find my space?
Share an invite link, or list the space in Discover under its interests and games so people can join without an invite. See Discover.
Does Sazlo have AI?
Only if a space turns it on with its own Anthropic or OpenAI key. Then it can translate messages, summarize what you missed, power bots and run personas. Without a key, nothing is sent to an AI provider.
Can I import from Slack, Guilded or TeamSpeak?
Slack, yes: upload a Slack export and Sazlo brings public channels, threads, reactions, canvases and lists. Private channels and direct messages are always skipped. Guilded and TeamSpeak imports are not built. Discord imports with every message.
Is Sazlo open source or self-hostable?
No. Sazlo is a hosted service at sazlo.app.
What is on the way?
Desktop and phone apps. We announce features when they ship, not before.
